South Carolina Botanical Garden & The AHS Daylily Display Garden

After working with the South Carolina Botanical Garden for many years at their yearly Plant Sale, the Upstate Daylily Society requested permission to install a daylily garden in the Perennial Garden. We proposed to fill the Daylily Garden with hybrids from the American Hemerocallis Society's Region 15, consisting of North Carolina and South Carolina only. Our goal was to create a beautiful garden, educate the public about these beautiful plants and the amazing hybridizers that created them.

We received approval in the Fall of 2011 and began working. All of the daylilies were donated by club members and hybridizers from the two Carolina States. We completed the project that Fall. In the alloted space that we were given, we installed over 110 beautiful daylilies. In the years following, we requested and were approved by AHS to be an accredited AHS Display Garden. The Upstate Daylily Society, with the generous help of the SCBG, maintains the display garden throughout the year.
